Product Introduction:

SUN Telecom’s SUN-GT8700S is a single fiber version “triple play” Optical Line Terminal (OLT). It is a 24+4G high-performance managed Layer 2 “triple play” Optical Ethernet switch with CATV optical signal splitting and wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) functions. SUN-GT8000S provides an ideal solution to deliver "triple-play" services (data, voice and CATV) over single single-mode fiber for fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) or fiber-to-the-building (FTTB) applications. It offers up to 24 100Base-BX10 ports which are multiplexed with CATV optical signals to be connected to SUN Telecom’s SUN-GT80xxS or SUN-GT8072S series optical network unit (ONU) at the user’s premise. It also has two SFP based 1000Base-X fiber optic ports plus two 100/1000Base-X SFP and 10/100/1000Base-TX RJ45 combo ports for fast connection to the core data network, and one CATV optical signal input port.

SUN-GT8000S is targeted at the emerging market of Ethernet based “triple play” FTTx. Its rich feature set can meet the requirements of a variety of applications, especially the access network and the small-to-medium-scale customized network. The dual power supply provides the power redundancy for high-reliability applications. SUN-GT8000S is low-profile with a standard rack-mount size. It achieves the highest fiber port density within a single rack, providing users with the best performance/price ratio.

The network management function on SUN-GT8000S allows administrators to easily configure features, monitor performance and troubleshoot the switches using a standard RS-232 port, Web browser, Command Line Interface (CLI) or a Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP)-based network management platform.

Applications:

1. For Triple Play FTTH, the optional ONU down link can be SUN-GT8012S, 14S, 24S, 32S or 35S.
2. For Triple Play FTTB, the ONU down link can be SUN-GT8072S.
